# Using AngelAI effectively

> How to get the most from AngelAI as a Project Lead during due diligence.

## What AngelAI is

AngelAI is your AI due diligence assistant. It draws on the AngelHub knowledge base — a set of documents written by experienced UK angel investors covering every aspect of angel investment due diligence.

AngelAI is a thinking partner, not a decision-maker. It helps you surface the right questions, apply the right frameworks, and understand the implications of what you find. The judgment is always yours.

## AI response limits by plan

The limit is shared across the whole group. If you reach your monthly limit, AngelAI will tell you. The limit resets on the first of each calendar month.

## What to ask AngelAI during DD

**Guidance on specific DD areas**

* "What are the key questions I should be asking about this company's IP ownership?"
* "What does a credible B2B SaaS financial model look like at seed stage?"
* "What red flags should I look for when reviewing a university spinout?"

**Valuation sense-checking**

* "The company is asking for a £3m pre-money valuation with £80k ARR. How should I think about this?"
* "What valuation methodology is appropriate for a pre-revenue deep tech company?"

**Legal and structural questions**

* "What should I look for in a disclosure letter?"
* "What are the EIS eligibility requirements for a SaaS company?"

**Synthesising DD findings**

* "Help me structure a WNTBB assessment for this investment."
* "I've found the following during DD: \[summarise]. What are the key risks I should be focused on?"

## Reading AngelAI responses

Every response shows a confidence level and a suggested follow-up question.

## What AngelAI does not do

* Give you a recommendation on whether to invest
* Give legal advice — it tells you what questions to ask a solicitor
* Give financial advice — it explains EIS/SEIS mechanics, not your personal tax position
* Access the internet or external sources

## Tips for better results

**Be specific.** "Tell me about EIS" produces a generic response. "Does this company's holding structure affect EIS eligibility?" produces a targeted one.

**Provide context.** Share relevant details: "The founders have academic backgrounds with no prior commercial experience. What should I focus on when assessing the team?"

**Use it iteratively.** A good DD conversation with AngelAI typically runs 5–10 exchanges on a specific topic.
