What angel members do

As an angel member, you review deals that have passed screening and pitching, contribute to due diligence, vote on investment decisions, and — if the group invests — become a shareholder in the company. You are not responsible for running the DD process. That is the Project Lead’s job. Your role is to engage with the deals that interest you, contribute your expertise where relevant, and make informed voting decisions.

When you are active

  • Pitching — attending pitch events, forming an initial view
  • Due Diligence — reviewing DD findings, contributing to specific DD areas, using AngelAI
  • Closing — confirming your investment commitment
  • Completed — the investment is recorded in the group portfolio
You do not have access to the Screening stage.

What you can see and do

Available on all plans:
  • View all projects in Pitching, DD, Closing, and Completed stages
  • Read the entrepreneur’s submission and all Q&A history
  • Use AngelAI to ask questions about a deal
  • View the coverage map and DD findings
  • Vote on investment decisions
  • Cross-document consistency analysis
  • EIS/SEIS reference content
  • Project Discussion — the shared team conversation for each deal
Private notes — a personal workspace for your observations on each deal — are available on Pro and Scale plans only.

Project Discussion

Every project has a Discussion tab where the deal team — admins, assessors, the Project Lead, and angels — can talk to each other. It is separate from Q&A (the entrepreneur’s channel) and from private notes (which are personal). Use it to share observations, flag concerns, and coordinate during DD. The entrepreneur never sees the project Discussion.

Your relationship with the Project Lead

The Project Lead coordinates the DD process. Your job is to engage with their work — read discussion threads, ask questions, contribute expertise to specific DD areas if invited, and form your own view. If you have relevant expertise for a deal — sector knowledge, legal experience, technical background — tell the Project Lead. They may ask you to take responsibility for investigating that specific area.

Making your investment decision

Your investment decision is your own. AngelAI provides tools to help you make it well, but the decision to invest — and how much — is entirely yours. Each angel invests individually. You are not bound by the group’s majority view. See Voting on a deal for how the formal decision process works.
