Before you apply
Read the angel group’s investment criteria carefully. Most groups have a preferred stage, sector, and geography. If you are not sure whether your company is a fit, email the group directly before submitting a formal application.Completing the application form
Company basics — name, website, incorporation date, and registered address. Make sure these are accurate — they will be verified if you reach due diligence. The problem and your solution — describe the problem you are solving and how your product solves it. Be specific and concrete. Avoid jargon. Your market — describe the specific segment you are targeting in the near term, not the global total addressable market. Include the source of your market size estimate. Traction — paying customers, revenue, user numbers, letters of intent, partnerships. Be honest about where you are — investors verify what you claim. The team — relevant experience and why this team is well-placed to build this business. If there are gaps, acknowledge them and describe your plan to clarify them. The funding ask — how much, at what valuation, and specific use of funds. “Hiring, product, and marketing” is too vague — say how many people, in what roles, and what milestones you will achieve. EIS/SEIS — indicate whether you have advance assurance from HMRC, or whether you believe you qualify.Attaching documents
At minimum, attach your pitch deck (PDF, maximum 20MB) and your most recent financial model or projections. Do not attach lengthy business plans at application stage. After submitting
